1. DESCRIPTION
The NTN8370A and NTN8371A are noise reduction ear tube adapters for
surveillance earpieces. The NTN8370A kit is for extreme noise conditions,
and includes a foam ear tube piug that fits in one ear and a foam earplug
that fits in the other ear. The NTN8371A kit is for low noise conditions,
and includes a rubber ear tip that fits in the ear. Both kits include a
swivel lapel clip, an earphone coupler, a transparent audio tube, and a
90° ear tube fitting. |

II. INSTALLATION
A. General
After the Installation has been pertormed, save all unused iterns and
these instructions, as yeu may wish to restere the surveillance accessory
to its original condition at a later time.
B. Disassemble Surveillance Earpiece
Refer to Figure 2 and pertorm the following steps:

Remove the rubber ear tip by pulling it out and away from the ear tip adapter.

lf an earloop is in place, it will fall free trom the ear tip adapter.

Remove the ear tip adapter from the earphone by applying enough sideways
force to unsnap it from its secure position. Note: A thin clear plastic
washer 15 on the face of the earphone. Do not remove lt.

C. Assemble Ear Tube Accessory to Surveillance Earpiece Peter to Figure
3 and perform the following steps:

Align the earphene coupler of the ear tube accessory with the earphene
of the surveillance earpiece.
Note: Make sure that the clear plastic washer is en the face of the
earphone.

Press the earphone coupler (hole side) onto the mating surface of the earphene
until it snaps together.

IlI.AFFIX THE EAR TUBE ACCESSORY FOR OPERATION
After assembling the ear tube accessery te the surveillance earpiece,
attach the ear tube accessory to a lapel, left or right as you prefer.
Then follow the procedure for your application (high-noise or low-noise
accessory).

Use your finger tips to squeeze the foam ear tube plug, fairly tight around
the center black tube.

While the ear tube plug team is compressed, insert it into the ear canal
far enough to be cmmfortably worn.
Note: Within a few secends after the ear tube insertion, the
compressed foam will conform to the shape of your ear canal.

To further reduce the noise level, compress the foam earplug as you did
the foam ear tube plug. While the foam earplug is compressed, insert lt
inte the other (open) ear canal far enough to be comtortably worn. Within
a few seconds after the earplug insertion, the cempressed team will conform
to the shape ot your ear canal.

Note: If the audio is not loud
enough when using an ear tube adapter an a surveillance earpiece, earphone
components may be substituted. Earphones are color coded. On HT 1000 radios,
the extra loud earphone (Motorola part number 5080369E39, red dot) will
produce increased audio. On other radios, increased audio will be achieved
using the extra loud earphone *(Motorola part number 5080377E27, yellow
dot).
